Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor is a Forgotten Realms dungeon crawl developed by Stormfront Studios and originally published by Ubisoft in 2001. It is the fifth and latest game in the Pool of Radiance series, a turn-based party RPG where your heroes fight through the catacombs and dungeons beneath the ruined elven city of Myth Drannor. The story sends your band after a dracolich, Pelendralaar, and the sorceress Kya Mordrayn, who have seized control of the Mythal and reactivated a Pool of Radiance beneath New Phlan.
The original launch was famously rough: community sources record bugs and lackluster reviews, including uninstaller problems and reports that damaged its reputation. The 2026 re-release published by SNEG keeps the 2001 game at its core but fixes numerous original bugs, adds widescreen support up to 4K, sharper visuals, an improved UI with an action bar and tooltips, adjustable combat animation speed, full controller support and an optional Legacy mode that preserves original gameplay and visuals. This wiki documents both eras: what players deal with in-game, and what the re-release changed.
