Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor Download Guide

You can buy and download Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor on its official Steam store page, where it launched on November 6, 2026. This is the first time the 2001 game has been available digitally, published by SNEG. As of 2026-11-07, the official Steam page lists Windows as the only platform; no Mac, Linux, or console version is offered.

How to buy and download it

1. Open the store page

Go to the Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor page on Steam. A free demo is also available there if you want to try the first location before buying.

2. Pick a purchase option

The base price is $19.99, discounted to $17.99 until November 20 as of 2026-11-07. Two bundles can save you more: one with The Temple of Elemental Evil and one with Forgotten Realms: The Archives – Collection Two. If you already own either of those games, a special bundle discount applies automatically.

3. Install and play

After purchase, the game downloads through the Steam client. It needs a 64-bit Windows 10/11 PC with a 1.8 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card, and 4 GB of free storage. The original soundtrack is included with the game.

What the digital version includes

The re-release runs smoothly on modern hardware and adds widescreen support up to 4K, sharper visuals, an improved UI with an action bar and tooltips, full controller support, and Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud. Numerous original bugs are fixed, combat animation speed is adjustable, and an optional "Legacy" mode preserves the original gameplay and visuals. Community reviews on sites like BestOldGames describe the original as a faithful Gold Box homage with turn-based combat and D&D 3rd Edition rules — the re-release keeps all of that intact.
